Jaxsun Planet utilizes various instruments and methods to create his sound. He uses the piano/keyboard and synth for original melodies and the MPC for sampling and for finger drumming. He ranks J Dilla, Madlib, Pharrell, Timbaland,  Q-Tip, DJ premier, Pete Rock, and Organized Noize as some of his greatest influences.
